and all the herbs on the deck and in the windowboxes.
Last night, DH had a Booty Vortex gig, so the kids and I stayed home and watched movies together. It was great. Today, we washed the cars

and made pulled pork for dinner, along with an amazing Peruvian dish called Papa a la Huancaina. DS the elder is doing a big report on Peru for school tomorrow, and he wanted to bring this in as part of it. So we made up a batch for us to taste. I now have a new potato salad substitute for summer! This stuff is amazing. Here's the recipe if you are interested. Sorry, no pictures of food here. I find pictures of food, unless they are incredibly well composed (hint: turn the flash off) to be, well, distasteful.
Parting Shot - Hoover!
Hoover had a good weekend too. He went swimming yesterday, lay around in the sunshine while we planted, and spent today running around the yard. It's good to be a dog in our house.I hope you all had a great Memorial Day if you celebrate it. If not, I hope you had a great weekend and Monday. Tomorrow I'm going to make another pair of shorts and try to get started on the Marfy muslin.
Happy sewing!

You are right in your last post about the weather changing in NE last week. We were there and not prepared for the different weather changes. Hot, then cold, Brrrr..... We're used to that kink of weather in TN though. Saturday was wonderful though
Hey save some space in that bed for Zephyr summar sqaush, heirloom Moon & Stars watermelon and Bright Lights chard! I have seedlings of all for you but they won't be ready to go for about 2 weeks. The squash and swiss chard can live in containers. The watermelon needs room to scramble though but the vines are really pretty, green with yellow speckles.
P.S. So with you on flash photography of food - ugh!
My daughter had an au pair from Peru & that's what she fixed for us one day! We love it, too, and have made it often! Her recipe was pretty much the same, but she used red bell pepper for the chilis, bread for the crackers, and feta cheese- mainly because that's what she found.
Thanks-love your blog! Aloha!
So what did you plant?
Thanks for the recipe- I will make it for our Peruvian friend the next time she visits!
I need to take the time to plant a garden. The children would really love that; and the fresh vegies would be nice, too.
