We Got Winners!

Wow, you guys are quick! And seeing my rum punch recipe so many times makes me feel like an alcoholic. I'll have to whip up a batch this weekend and invite the neighbors over. If you're in the area, stop when you see the palm tree lit up on the deck. You can see it from Francis Wyman Road. All the neighbors know that when the tree is lit (remember that line in Auntie Mame, "There now.... is everybody lit?") that cocktail hour is going on the deck.

So the lucky winners are....

Dawn in Alaska
Becky in Alabama
Michael in Perth, Australia
Jill in Michigan
Carey in Illinois
Carrie in Georgia

And guess what? I came across one that I had left upstairs, so there was a bonus 7th, which goes to Stacy in Kansas.

I was very democratic in the magazine selection. I closed my eyes, stuffed each one in an envelope and closed it up before addressing them. So I have no idea who got which. Thanks to everyone for participating! If I find any more, you can be sure I'll put them up.

Oh, and just so everyone can make their own if they so choose over the weekend, the recipe, lifted from "Invasion of the Party Snatchers is

1 part sour
2 parts sweet
3 parts strong
4 parts weak

translation for a crowd of partiers:
1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon and/or lime juice (I like to use both)
2 cups simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water boiled together for 5 minutes, then cooled)
3 cups rum (or 2 1/2 cups rum and 1/2 cup coconut rum)
4 cups ice (you can also put 2 cups orange and pineapple juices in and 2 cups of ice)

Stir all ingredients together, add bitters to taste, and garnish with a scrape of nutmeg. Enjoy!

Happy sewing!

thank you so much! It looks like I just barely squeeked in! :)

I'm ready for some of that rum punch - hopefully only 4 more days to go before I could have a glass (or two or three.... ROFL).
